New Yorkers + Outdoors + Global Inheritance

December 31, 1969
Summer is back in New York City and so is Global Inheritance.  On June 25, Adventures NYC will challenge New Yorkers to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Global Inheritance, partnering with The North Face, will again be hosting many of the popular programs from last year’s event.  We’ll also be rolling out several new outdoor programs for this year’s event.

While rock climbing, kayaking, or hiking to jumpstart your outdoor lifestyle, you can explore ways to keep your outdoor passion environmentally sustainable. The North Face Passport will reward people onsite for interacting with each activity.
People earn points and keep their footprint to a minimum by recycling, using public transportation, creating electricity in the Energy Playground to earn snow cones, re-designing their t-shirts with custom environmentally themed artwork,
testing their knowledge of national & state parks, and a lot more!  The TNF Passport Center will be rewarding passport participants with TNF tents, jackets, backpacks and hats along with Skullcandy headphones, Camelbak reusable bottles, Loomstate organic jeans, music from Interscope Records, Chipotle Burrito Bucks, plus lots of other prizing.

This isn’t the end, however, on June 26 we’ll be crossing the bridge into Brooklyn for the Outdoor Nation youth summit.
At Outdoor Nation, youth delegates from across the 50 states will meet to discuss environmental and outdoor issues facing their community.  These delegates will get the chance to interact with alternative energy while at the summit by using Tour de Energy bikes to charge phones, cameras, Ipods, and other devices. These delegates will then take the sustainability message back to their communities and innovate solutions to raise awareness of outdoor opportunities and sustainability.  Everyone participating in Outdoor Nation on Sunday will also have the opportunity to create their own shirt designed around endangered species in the New York City area.
